T.O.N.E. U.P. Inc Empowers Second Chances

Have You or Someone You Know Recently Come Home from Incarceration?

Who We are

Located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, T.O.N.E. U.P. Inc (Teaching Ourselves New Examples to Uplift People) is a non-profit organization driven by the expertise of justice-impacted Black and Brown community members. Our mission is to empower fellow justice-impacted individuals through holistic re-entry services and inclusive democracy engagement. By focusing on character building, coaching, leadership development, mutual aid, political education, and democracy engagement, we aim to bridge the gap in re-entry services that lack guidance from those with lived experience. We are committed to creating safe, dignified, and relatable spaces where justice-impacted people can thrive, heal, and lead.

Our services

Personal and Leadership Development

We offer personal development classes led by T.O.N.E. U.P. Inc mentors who have firsthand experience with the prison system. These classes are available in both one-on-one and group settings. Participants will learn and develop good character, self-awareness, and healthy relationship dynamics.

Networking and Community Building

Beyond personal support, T.O.N.E. U.P. Inc fosters community building through our Character In Motion (CIM) activities. These include volunteering and grassroots engagement that promote living out our core principles and building meaningful connections.
